Our coupling systems are used by the three branches of NATO and the German Armed Forces. The systems, which are tailored to the special requirements, are extremely robust, durable and designed for shock effects. Materials and surfaces depend on the respective operating conditions. There are many cases in which our couplings have made it possible to replace units quickly, which is important for increasing operational readiness.
Quick-release couplings, which ensure simple and safe coupling from a line, are designed for applications in the low-pressure, medium-pressure or high-pressure range from a minimum of 5 bar to a maximum of 3000 bar, depending on the application, material, construction and locking mechanism. They are suitable for various liquid and gaseous media, such as water, hydraulic oils, lubricating greases, fuel or compressed air and are used, among other things, in hydraulic applications, for fuelling and supplying fuel or in cooling systems for vehicles. Monocouplings in special designs are also used for special applications such as military defence technology, which meet the specific requirements in the military sector.
Clean-break monocouplings ensure the squirt-free connection and disconnection of media lines without media loss and air entrapment. Clean-break couplings are deployed in the military sector in cooling circuits of power modules. They are vibration-resistant, have seals that are optimised depending on the medium and operating temperature, and are usually also protected against contamination. Depending on their material, they are designed for cooling pressure ranges up to a maximum of 16 bar. Stainless steel versions are particularly robust and durable and can therefore withstand extremely high demands.
Quick-release couplings that connect several fluidic or electrical lines simultaneously are available with or without any mechanical help. Due to the fixed arrangement of the different coupling elements, be it through, clean-break and locking elements or electrical, measuring and power plugs, confusion of lines when coupling loose and fixed halves is ruled out. In military defence technology, multicouplings are preferentially used in automated work processes for testing, controlling or regulating. They can be connected and disconnected manually, pneumatically or hydraulically, depending on whether they have a mechanical aid.
Docking systems in simple plate design are used in military and aerospace applications in test benches, but are also used in larger diesel engines and aircraft jet engines. The coupling halves can be equipped with several coupling elements made of different materials, in various nominal widths and for different media, whether with through elements, closing or clean-break valves. They can also be fitted with power, electrical and measuring plugs. Depending on whether auxiliary power-operated docking systems have an infeed unit or not, they are equipped with their own drive or can use motion sequences provided by the customer for the coupling process.
Multicoupling systems that can use the movement sequences of the system's existing peripheral equipment for coupling must compensate for the deviation of the feed movement by means of a guiding and centering device. If the existing movement sequences cannot be used, the docking systems must be equipped with their own hydraulic, pneumatic or electric drive. Proximity sensors can be used in both docking systems to query the coupling states. A mechanical interlock keeps the plates together even under full pressure load. The multi-coupling systems can be used both horizontally and vertically, and all media-carrying elements can be decoupled with low leakage.
