WALTHER-PRÄZISION als Wegbereiter für die Müngstener Brücke
The Müngsten Bridge – a landmark of German engineering

At 107 meters high and with an impressive span of 465 meters, the Müngsten Bridge between Remscheid and Solingen is not only Germany’s highest railway bridge, but also a masterpiece of engineering. Since its opening in 1897, it has stood for technical precision, innovation, and the courage to push boundaries.
The structure, made of over 5,000 tons of steel, impresses with its delicate yet robust truss design. For over a century, it has withstood wind, weather, and the strain of daily rail traffic—a striking example of sustainable engineering, long before the term even existed.
The way the individual steel components are joined together is particularly fascinating: 934,456 rivets hold the structure together, each one a symbol of precision and reliability. Even today, the bridge undergoes regular, extensive maintenance and repairs to ensure its stability and functionality for generations to come.
The Müngsten Bridge stands for movement, connection, and permanence – values that we at WALTHER-PRÄZISION also embody. Just like this impressive structure, our couplings for traffic engineering contribute to ensuring that people and technology remain safely connected. Whether in historical buildings or vehicles, precision, stability, and reliability are the foundation for everything that moves, making us pioneers for the Müngsten Bridge.

About WALTHER-PRÄZISION Founded in 1931 as a machine factory, WALTHER-PRÄZISION has been developing and manufacturing single and multi-couplings and docking systems since 1951. These systems are used wherever liquids, vapors, gases, electrical and optical signals, and power need to be safely transmitted, connected, and disconnected. For the automotive, aerospace, chemical and pharmaceutical, steel, offshore, medical technology, transportation, mechanical and plant engineering, and defense industries, our engineers develop solutions that meet the highest demands, prove their worth in extreme environmental conditions, and protect our environment.
