Applications for transportation technology

The requirements
Quick couplings for use in vehicle systems must guarantee a safe connection under constant vibrations and very dirty conditions for many years under extreme temperature changes. This can range from monocouplings with small diameters for motor cars to customised docking systems on ships. Particularly high demands with regard to fail-safe designs and availability are made for railway systems. Connections in safety-relevant areas must be permanent and functional under extreme dynamic loads.

Our solutions
In railway engineering, our couplings are used among others for power supply, air-conditioning systems, for cooling transformers and rectifiers, and in hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems. In shipbuilding, our monocouplings provide detachable connections for water, hydraulic and pneumatic lines. For many years, our docking systems have been successfully used for simultaneous loading and unloading of cross channel ferries with operating fluids such as fuel, water and waste products. In cars, our monocouplings connect among others the hydraulic lines for soft-top roofs. They also guarantee safe refuelling with alternative fuels such as gas and liquid hydrogen, or facilitate the installation and service of fluid systems. This includes engine cooling, heating and airconditioning systems as well as brake systems.
